John Frieh is a US based personal trainer specializing in individual fitness consultation, remote programming and coaching. John’s commitment and focus on building custom programs that realistically work into the already busy lives of his clients consistently delivers results. John’s clientele includes royalty, heads of state, professional athletes, celebrities, executives as well as every day athletes; some regularly appear on lists compiled by Forbes, Fortune, or Time Magazine. Different backgrounds aside, John's client share the same mindset, determination, drive and focus to not only implement the program, but meet and exceed goals set.
In January of 2009, John began working with Gym Jones. After years of hard work, in 2012 he became the very first person to earn Full Certification. Since then, he continues to assist with numerous Gym Jones seminars and work on select Gym Jones projects. John has also mentored like-minded individuals who have gone on to achieve Full Certification themselves.
John has earned the respect of his mentors Mark Twight, Lisa Twight and Rob MacDonald for his expertise in functional training and his commitment to developing and implementing innovative fitness techniques. With nearly 10 years in the fitness industry John's dynamic approach and professionalism ensure a superior experience and results his clients value.
As an athlete John has amassed 10 First Ascents climbing in Alaska in an unprecedented six years. Many of these while working full-time job as a manager at Intel in Portland, Oregon. He is considered to be one of the first to pioneer “Smash and Grab” style climbing. John founded the Portland Ice Festival in 2006 which, after several successful years, grew into the Portland Alpine Festival; one of the largest climbing festivals in the United States. John is a graduate of Oregon State University. He is an Ambassador for Arc’teryx, Petzl, Mountain Gear and ClubSport Oregon.
